Unlock Your Inner-World: Journey Inward with These Transformative Healing Modalities
You are a walking treasure chest, just waiting to be unlocked and blown away by what your inner-world holds for you. You just have to find the right way in and cherish that connection while you travel
Hello beautiful Soul,
It’s another Monday morning, well, it will be evening by the time you’re reading this, depending on where you live, of course 😆 So today I would like to dive into a very interesting topic, at least it is for me. And as always, I intend to add some value to your process, present you some new tools or practices or at least help you shift your state or mindset.
Firstly, what do I mean with healing modalities? Well, basically everything thing that can help you journey deeper into yourself to explore your inner-world and everything that’s hidden within it. That can be skills, talents and all kinds of (psychic) abilities, but also stuck emotions, buried trauma’s, unresolved issues and all kinds of coping mechanisms you didn’t even know were looping in the background.
We could divide them into small and short practices versus long intense ones. Or the ones you can do on your own versus the ones you undergo with some kind of support system… but the whole point, well actually, two points will be:
1. Even the shortest practices of 15 minutes, can shake you to the core, create massive shifts and unlock profound wisdom.
2. There are so many things you can do, that are overlooked or aren’t considered as ‘practices’ or rituals, but are very healing.
So to paint a more clearer and complete picture, I will take you through a short overview of what I mean. This list is not exhaustive, it’s meant to get us started and provide some inspiration. Thereafter, we’ll dive into the juicy part: whoop whoop!
Let’s start with the most common practices that you can do on your own, that are (relatively) short and sweet, and don’t need any support system or guidance to create a safe haven or to guide you along.
- Journaling
- Guided meditations
- Breathwork
- Oracle cards
- Walks in nature
- Reading (esoteric books)
- Sitting in silence
- Somatic shaking
- Energy clearings
The most known practices that are intense and go more in-depth, are usually the ones that require a support system, guidance and a more in-depth understanding of the process. Furthermore, a safe container is a must, in which you are held, prepared for what’s coming and cared for during and after the session.
- TRE (trauma release exercise)
- Shamanic journey
- EFT (emotional freedom technique)
- Plant medicine like Huachuma (San Pedro), Ayahuasca or micro-dosing
- DMT breathwork
- Soul retrieval
- Transcendental meditations
Both lists are meant for you more as an inspiration, maybe an invitation for an exploration or a reminder to switch things up. Depending on where you are in your journey, you will need different healing modalities. So it’s not just about knowing and learning as much as possible, but also about embodying what you’ve learned. Taking the time to integrate not only the knowledge, but what the practice has done for you so that you can process all that has come up.
It’s important to understand that when you start moving towards the more in-depth practices, you do so for the right reasons and at the right time for you. Meaning because you felt drawn aka heard the call of the medicine, for example. Or you were guided or inspired to try a new practice or to go to a certain retreat, where you would learn more about yourself than you could ever imagine.
On the other hand, knowing yourself if certain practices aren’t suitable for you is crucial. For example, if you’re going through a depression (or a dark night of the Soul), but also if you are physically not fit or maybe recovering from a surgery, car accident or burn-out, then you want to stay away from plant-medicine as Ayahuasca. It will be too much for your body and your nervous system to handle.
So that’s why these kinds of choices must come from the heart, led by your Soul and backed up with some common sense. Other kinds of choices and healing modalities can be more mind based. Meaning, just knowing that it would be good for you to journal daily, move your body or do some breathwork because you know it’s good for your body, mind and Soul period. Then it’s more about finding what works for you, how and when to apply it. And then just sticking with it, as long as it serves you.
So to circle back to what I call the juicy part, it fits nicely with the Soul theme. Meaning, you will explore and discover the following practices by using your intuition, connecting with your Soul, riding the energy waves. This is not something you can think your way through, but you have to feel your way through. I have 3 favourite ones, that I want to explore with you, to prevent this from becoming a whole chapter instead of just one Light Note 😂
1. Music… Playing or listening to heartfelt music, certain frequencies or mantra’s even. This can be so powerful when done accordingly. You can use music to let it move you, to help you focus, to shift your state. But also to help you tap into your emotions so that you can release them.
Sound in general can help you raise your vibrations and help you heal and travel inwards. Depending on what you need at a certain moment and what kind of process you’re going through, you can make a selection of what to listen to.
So to make it more practical: you can use music to help you shift your mood, release dense emotions and to move your body. Not in a way that it looks good, or what you’re used to, but more how your body wants to move, how your Soul wishes to express itself. This can be done in as short as 10 minutes or go on for even like 2 hours or longer if you wish. As long as it’s supporting you on your journey.
2. Creative expressions. Using something that allows your Soul to move through you, to express itself through any medium and start communicating with you through creativity. You will need to learn the language of your Soul and set the intentions together combining with asking the right questions. It’s a whole journey on its own, but a very fun one to explore, not to mention very powerful.
For me, this practice has been such an amazing gift and blessing. I’ve learned sooooo much, it just was a never-ending story of hidden treasures. Some magical, some quite painful. I was guided to a trauma I didn’t even ‘knew’ about until I remembered, I uncovered more about my lineage and where I originate from, learned more about my divine partner and much more.
Little sidenote: this isn’t about envisioning, that’s a whole different practice done from your mind, occasionally fueled by your hearts desires. The kind of creative expression we’re exploring here, is about allowing your Soul to express itself through you. You can do so by drawing, painting, collage making and so forth.
It doesn’t have to make any sense or look good (just like with the dancing). It’s not about the right techniques or experience either, it’s more about having fun, allowing yourself to go with the flow of creataion, sometimes tapping into your inner-child and getting out of your mind. It becomes your Soul Art.
3. Exploring and Traveling. So yes, for the obvious reasons because it’s fun, typically very relaxing and expanding. But also because you’re meeting new cultures, exploring new territories, trying new things and therefor leaving your comfort zone (unless you’re going to the same place every time or do the same things, of-course).
But what I’m talking about is all the high vibe and healing energies and some sacred spots and places that are available for you. And you don’t have to travel to Egypt, Mount Sinai, or Stonehenge to tap into some higher frequency. There are healing and expanding energies available for you in the most common places, sometimes just around the corner.
What I’ve noticed, that even in my town, I started to explore the city differently, by taking intuitive walks. I therefore uncovered some spots and places that are very nourishing for me and almost always make me feel more at home in myself. Those little hidden places help me to sink deeper into my body, awaken my imagination, and help me to open my heart more so that I’m able to feel the love and light that is already within me.
And ofcourse, taking those long intuitive walks, connecting with nature and the animals living there, can be very healing and sometimes even magical. You can make new (fur)friends in unexpected places.
If I’m being honest, I truly enjoy all kinds of practices and appreciate every medicine that every each one of them has to offer. Some you can mix and match, some you just do once, and you’re done for life. Some might never be suitable or helpful for you, and that’s OK. Always listen to what feels good for you (on a Soul level) and follow your intuition. Don’t let fear of the unknown stop you, but be mindful and responsible regarding your mental and physical wellbeing, knowing when something will not serve you in regard to where you’re at right now.
So, I hope this Light Note helped you to open your heart (more), awakened your curiosity and inspired you to move forth on your path, with maybe some new ideas. Perhaps this week you can explore a new practice, or just adjust the intensity, frequency, or consistency of what you’ve already been doing. Follow your heart and listen to your body, it will never lead you astray. That’s your ego’s job and all its wounds and trauma’s. 😜
Please let me know what your favourite ‘go to’ practice is and if you need any clarification regarding one of these topics or if you have suggestions for a topic, you would like to read more about. I always love to hear from you. You can reach me via: lightnotes@lionadivina.nl
For now, I wish you a beautiful day or a gorgeous evening.
